This year, Dip took our plastic-free mission all the way to Sri Lanka for International Coastal Cleanup Day 2025.

On our recent trip to Sri Lanka, we rolled up our sleeves for our very own beach cleanup in honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day 2025. The sand was hot, the trash bags were heavy, but the message was clear: clean hair doesn’t mean much without clean coastlines.

Why International Coastal Cleanup Day 2025 Matters

Every September, millions of people worldwide unite for one mission: protecting our oceans, waves, and beaches. Led by organizations like the Surfrider Foundation, International Coastal Cleanup Day is about more than picking up trash — it’s about proving that small actions, when multiplied, create big waves of change.

The global impact of ocean pollution

Plastic bottles, candy wrappers, straws, and caps aren’t just an eyesore.. they break down into microplastics that harm marine life and even end up in our food systems.

How small actions create big waves

One Dip bar = daily reminder of how you are contributing to a larger combined effort.

One cleanup = countless pieces of trash removed.

One community = global change.

Dip x Surfrider Foundation: A Partnership for Change

We proudly repped Surfrider hats and shirts during our cleanup to spotlight our ongoing partnership.

The Surfrider Collab Bar — plastic-free haircare with purpose

Dip created the Surfrider Collab Bars — These shampoo and conditioner bars help the mission. For 2 years, dip has pledged $25,000 to Surfrider to help them change laws about plastic at a national level.

Where your purchase makes a difference

Every Surfrider Collab Bar you buy supports conservation efforts — and every Dip bar you use keeps plastic bottles out of the waste stream. With the help of our incredible customers, we’ve donated over $50,000 to the Surfrider Foundation as of this year. Together, it’s a double win for our beaches.

Beach Cleanup in Sri Lanka: Our Dip Team Story

Thousands of miles from home, our team spent the day combing the shoreline and seeing firsthand the impact of plastic pollution.

What we found on the shore

The usual suspects made their appearance:

Plastic Bottles

Plastic Bags

Plastic Straws and Bottle Caps

Plastic Toothbrushes

Candy Wrappers

Each piece collected meant less plastic washing back into the surf and a beach that felt more wild and free.

How plastic-free swaps protect coastlines

Cleanups matter, but prevention matters more. Every time you swap a bottle for a Dip bar, you’re helping reduce the plastic that might otherwise end up on a beach like the one we cleaned in Sri Lanka.

How You Can Join the Movement

You don’t need a passport to make a difference this International Coastal Cleanup Day 2025.

Shop plastic-free haircare

One Dip Conditioner Bar can replace several bottled beauty products beyond conditioner: detanglers, curl creams and even leave in conditioners - small swaps with a big impact.

Support the Surfrider Collab Bar

A portion of every purchase goes directly back to Surfrider Foundation’s ocean protection work.
