Hair Type Overview
1. c
If you have hair like Cristina: long, fine, highlighted and exposed to salt & sweat daily as she trains for a marathon. Our shampoo bar is her best friend to help keep her scalp healthy & her ponytail bouncy
Shampoo: Long, highlighted, frequently heat-styled locks! Because your hair is smooth, you need to prime the shampoo bar in your hands first by roughing it up. Then let the very wet bar glide or "ice skate" over your very wet hair. The less you press, the better the lather!
Conditioner: With long hair like this, your best bet is the 3 oz bar for your shower. The name of the game here is over-applying and saturating each strand & extending the time between haircuts because we know that stylists get scissor happy if your ends look dry :)
- Make sure both your hair and your bar are very wet
- Apply directly to hair and saturate to your liking
- For extra dry hair or split ends, leave in for a bit
- Rinse out
- Throw some back in as a leave in on those ends
2. a
If you have hair like Bec: mostly straight with a slight wave & naturally highlighted by long, daily stretches of exposure to the sun & ocean
Shampoo: Long, highlighted by the sun, frequently heat-styled locks! Because your hair is smooth, you need to prime the shampoo bar in your hands first by roughing it up. Then let the very wet bar glide or "ice skate" over your very wet hair. The less you press, the better the lather!
Conditioner: With long, sun-drenched hair like this, your best bet is the 3 oz bar for your shower. When hair gets damaged or lightened by the sun it becomes more porous, and drinks up conditioner
- Make sure both your hair and your bar are very wet
- Apply directly to hair and saturate to your liking
- For extra dry hair or split ends, leave in for a bit
- Rinse out
- Throw some back in as a leave in on those ends
4. b
If you have hair like Laneice: Type 4b curls with lots of volume & gorgeous texture that tends to be dry:
Shampoo: Because of the gorgeous texture of your hair, your shampoo bar might wear down faster. The best way to extend the life of your bar is to apply the shampoo without a lot of pressure to your curls. Lift them up and shampoo underneath as well :)
Conditioner: This is where the 3 oz bar really shines, because it has a larger surface area.
- Make sure both your hair and your bar are very wet
- Section by section, apply conditioner bar to hair
- Re-wet before each application to ensure the most product stays on hair
- Leave in for 5 minutes, you can even use the conditioner bar to shave your legs while you wait!
- Rinse
- Re-apply as a leave in
